dodgeball
if you havent heard, in this year's annual catholic memorial dodgeball tournemant, there is one team that is a diamond in the rough. The sleeper team this year is ranked #23/23 teams. They have an interesting but unstoppable assembly of children whose extracurriculars arent so curricular. This dream team, dodgeball throwing machine is no other than THE GREEN TEAM. With myself as captain, i vow to quell the underestimations of our talent, by proving our legitimacy on the court. Do not be fooled by the ranking, as it was only a matter of crooked politicics weaved with the spider web of a filthy animal, in other words our ranking is malarkey, tomfoolery, and busch league. Despite the odds, the favorite team with the best chances to pull off a cinderella story to win it all (As reported in the Boston Globe, New York Times, and Milwaulke Journal) is without a doubt the team in green. Buerocrats and diplomats nationwide have ridiculed the low rank and many say it is an attack against the enviromentalist agenda that my team stands for. I can deal with a few critics who put us down and I can handle a rock bottom pre-tourny ranking, but I will not allow the destruction of Gods great green earth to be tolerated. It is one thing to underestimate my group of dedicated athletes/environmentalists, but NO MAN shall root their hatred for us in the hatred of my environment. TREE HUGGERS FOREVER! ALL ANTI-EARTH TEAMS WILL BE DESTROYED! WE WILL PREVAIL! YOULL SEE! YOULL ALL SEE!
GO GREEN!!!!!
GO GREEN!!!!!

Facbook expulsion
This article about Taylor Cummings, a senior from Nashville, getting expelled for a comment on facebook, is rediculous. I hate reading articles like this, because older generations do not understand the slang, informality, and illegitimacy of things kids might say online. Though the comment was violent the actual threat shouldve been further investigated at least in order to rule an expulsion. He was a good kid who deffinitely did not deserve or intend those consequences. Adults, especially school officials need to take facebook activity in context. This kid might have had an obscence status but compared to all of the other posts he might see on his news feed, chances are his status was no more obscene than any others. My generation tends to be very explicit and unaware of the consequences of their online behavior, but no child in their right mind would make a legitimate threat on the internet for everyone to see as evidence. Clearly he said it in anger and didnt mean it at all. This happens all the time...

Watson vs. Skynet
In Jeopardy, a computer system called Watson developed by IBM challenges human opponents in a game of wits. I think the creators of the computer are highly underestimating its capabilities, and I think its intellegence may exceed their own. In a society today where people work in specific, very narrowly specified jobs, the computer will retain information from a broad range of minds, to the point where it understands and knows more than any of the people themselves. It is rare now a days to find a well rounded genious similar to the likes of Leonardo DeVinci, and so there is no one out there who knows such a wide range of subjects that the computer is being taught. There may be no heart or soul in the computer, but soon enough it will comprehend human motives and insticts based upon history and psychological knowlege, and i honestly believe in its ability to overcome our containment
